Augustin Detienne was born in 1976 in Annecy and has lived and worked in Paris since 1998. Born into a family of musicians, violin, drawing and photography were part of an early attraction for the arts which he would later pursue by studying film-making and photography.
He made his professional debut with the Naval Fire Department in Marseille where he worked as a naval security agent and a video maker. In 1998, he began working for the press (Maison Française, France Soir and Jeune Afrique Économie – Reportages in the Congo, Ivory Coast and Cameroon). He also did corporate and institutional commissions (INPES, The Ministry of Agriculture, Hermès, Caron…).
Today, in addition to being a staff photographer at CANAL+, he has covered the Printemps de Bourges music festival and has carried out a host of corporate missions in France and abroad (Nestlé, BNP Paribas, CANAL +, the Institut national des métiers d’art…). In parallel to this professional activity he has continued to develop a personal body of photographic and drawing work which he publishes on his blog.
