In tribute to the work and spirit of pioneering photographer
Robert Capa, CAPA (Chabalier Associates Press Agency) sends
out its Betacam-wielding journalists with the same goal that
inspired the Leica-toting photojournalists of the early 20th
century: showing that every picture is a testimonial to one
human being’s unique outlook.
CAPA makes no attempt to compete with the "news"
teams that crisscross the four corners of the earth. Yet CAPA
does follow current events closely, often even anticipating
important breaking developments. CAPA was in Sudan and Kurdistan
before events there roused the interest of the mainstream
press.
This same spirit is the driving force behind CAPA's reports
and feature-length documentaries. If we had to define the
CAPA style, we would describe it as "getting closer to
people, showing the flip side of the picture, investigating
and understanding. Spending a year in a tough middle school,
or four years documenting the construction of France's colossal
new stadium. Digging through Cuban archives, or sounding the
memories of foreign-born French citizens. All are good examples
of how CAPA looks at our world. And others clearly appreciate
our outlook, with CAPA productions currently broadcast on
more than 90 television channels around the globe.
Shortly after its creation in 1989, CAPA Presse TV set up
a special department to handle international sales and keep
track of broadcasting rights using state-of-the-art software.
Numerous TV networks around the globe have put their trust
in CAPA, becoming faithful customers who regularly broadcast
films made or produced by our teams.
CAPA Presse TV’s strong track record as an audiovisual producer
is a solid guarantee for new media outlets in search of attractive
content with high editorial quality.
